Lion fish are both colourful and majestic here on the reef. They are plentiful around the waters of South East Asia. They are carnivore creatures and can live up to about 15 years. The Clown fish, made famous with the film ‘Nemo’, they live among sea anemones, feeding on plankton, algae and other similar things as well as invertebrates which would normally harm the sea anemones. They grow up to 18cm, however, most tend to reach about 14-15cm. They are not harmful, but are very timid creatures and rarely move away from the safety of cover. I dive the UK East coast during the warmer months of the year (when there’s the chance of some visibility!).
We dive around the Norfolk coast, up to 30 miles off shore from a RIB. We try and get out each weekend, however, it is largely dependant on the weather though.
